The VOIP Events Manager is responsible for providing 24x7 network operations fault management support for AT&T’s VoIP Networks. Networks supported include Business VoIP, Global VoIP. Mobility VoIP and Collaborate Networks.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the remote monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of UNIX servers, operating systems, VoIP Applications, SoftSwitch Applications and IP networking to maintain 99.9+% uptime in an active production environment. Must have the ability to quickly respond to, troubleshoot, and isolate complex, potentially service impacting conditions that require a broad and in-depth level of technical knowledge. The ability to partner with peers and technical support organizations to manage the services, develop technical solutions, and restore services are a requirement of this position. Candidates must be able to work independently as well as a member of a larger team. This position will be required to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays on a rotational basis. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. This position partners with the Tier 3 Technical Support teams to troubleshoot system problems that may impact service availability and to develop long term fixes that will prevent service affecting failures from occurring. Candidate must possess strong technical skills to partner with advanced technical support teams (Tier 2-4) to compose technical documents related to alarm handling and advance troubleshooting. This position is also responsible for assisting the Technical Support teams in performing scheduled maintenance and deployments on production elements. This position must manage multiple simultaneous troubles with fault management maintenance support as the primary focus along with new service turn-ups and provisioning support responsibilities.

Key Competencies and Skills:

Intermediate to Advanced Unix skills via command line. Minimum of 2 years experience troubleshooting complex UNIX servers, operating systems (Solaris, HP), applications, and IP networking troubles within an Operations environment. Must have strong organizational skills, ability to multitask, and strong interpersonal skills. Willingness to own issues until problems are resolved. Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required Skills, etc.: - Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting UNIX servers and applications
- Understanding and working knowledge of LAN and WAN - routing, switching, data flow
- Experience with ticketing systems

Experience with TDM Networks, 4ESS switching, SS7 T1’s, DACS will be considered as advantage.

Additional Preferred Qualifications: Shift work, Work on site in office

Education and Qualifications:

Technical degree a plus
Cisco certifications a plus
