AT&T Global Network Services, Switzerland is an IT-sourcing service provider for banking customers on behalf of a large global client and operates a broad service portfolio for banks in Switzerland and abroad from Bern, Switzerland. In support of our Client's base, we are looking for a network engineer to join the team in Bern.

Network Engineer focusing on Cloud/SDN and traditional environments for LAN, WAN, WLAN and firewall technologies, as well as Internet access and proxy technologies. Opportunity to use your skills and experience across the suite of network solutions we operate on behalf of our customers, evolving from traditional to software defined network environments. The successful candidate will work with Clients on consultation and upsell opportunities using our broad portfolio to evolve their environments to meet current and future needs, as well as architecture, high- and low-level design, planning and deployment of projects for changes to existing services and deployment of new services. The position requires communication with project managers, customers and a local team of network engineers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Principally focused on customer projects. trusted advisor, consultation and making use of our service portfolio to advise customers on evolutions of their network and network related services
• Network solution proposals, high- and low-level designs, implementation and turn over to operations teams
• Maintain and evolve technical expertise in all areas of network and network security, as well as evolving and enhancing skills in software defined networking, cloud-based and virtualized environments, including network automation
• Deep level support on complex incidents to the operations team

Key Competencies and Skills:

Required Skills:
1) 5+ years of directly related professional work experience with networks / network security
2) Experience in concepts and deployment of Cloud, Virtualized and Automated network environments
3) Degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or equivalent
4) Excellent coordination and communication skills
5) Fluent in English and German

Desired Skills:
1) Cisco, HPN or Arista networking knowledge and engineering experience
2) Checkpoint, Palo Alto and/or Juniper Firewall knowledge and engineering experience
3) Bluecoat proxy Internet infrastructure
4) F5 LTM, APM and ASM engineering experience
5) Network automation via vendor APIs
6) Experience in network automation, SDN and self-development in related areas

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor in Telecommunications or Computer Science preferred.

Cisco CCNP, Checkpoint CCSE, Palo Alto PCNSE or other equivalent professional level of network certification is an advantage.
