AT&T's Computer Operations & Security Compliance Organization is currently seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join our world-class support team as a Senior Systems Administrator at our Naucalpan de Juarez office. Roles and Responsibilities:

• Install, upgrade, and perform disaster recovery activities on operating systems – ability to configure OS installation tools when necessary
• Design system performance optimization plans, setup monitoring functions and determine tuning potential
• Ability to analyze performance related to storage (NAS, SAN, and local disk), and design solutions necessary to resolve current and avoid future storage performance issues
• Setup and maintain file systems under the control of volume managers; understand mirroring, splitting, and re-layout functions, their performance impacts, and pros/cons
• Install and configure system clusters, resources, resource groups, and service groups using VERITAS Cluster Server
• Perform in-depth system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system availability and reliability
• Determine system issues, resolve outages, and perform root cause analysis
• Design, develop, recommend, and implement new or revised system software, configuration utilities, and automated processes, as necessary.
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues from server side and determine potential network break point; ability to read network packet capture
• Provide technical consultations for new system designs, migrations, and consolidations as needed
• Provide mentoring and guidance to Junior and Intermediate staff
• Work closely with internal customers, such as application and database administrators, to understand their processes and requirements and how it impacts your team
• Collaborate with peers from around the world to ensure customers are provided world-class support

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Expert knowledge in one or more of the following operating systems
o Linux (CentOS, RedHat, or Ubuntu)
o Solaris
o VMware ESXi
o Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
• Advanced knowledge with one or more of the following volume management tools
o AIX – LVM, VERITAS Volume Manager
o HP-UX – LVM, VERITAS Volume Manager
o Linux – LVM, VERITAS Volume Manager
o Solaris – Solaris Volume Manager, VERITAS Volume Manager, ZFS
o Windows – VERITAS Volume Manager
• Experience with one or more of the following OS installation tools
o NIM for AIX
o HP-UX Ignite-UX
o Linux Kickstart
o Solaris Wanboot
o Windows AIK
• Advanced knowledge of NAS and SAN storage; demonstrate understanding of NFS, iSCSI, and SAN parameters, such as queue depth, protocols, and read/write sizes, have on a system and storage.
• Advanced knowledge of IP addressing and routing; Demonstrate ability to identify packet transport issues using snoop/tcpdump and WireShark, troubleshooting routing failures and determine if issue is related to server, load balancer, firewall, or network routing.
• Advanced performance troubleshooting knowledge for OS, SAN, and/or Network
• Advanced PERL and shell scripting (sh/ksh/bash) knowledge. Demonstrate ability to create scripts on-demand to complete a task.
• Ability to understand the technical design/architecture of computer systems, networks, and applications. Demonstrates ability to troubleshoot design/architecture in a consultative manner.
• Ability to multitask while working in a high pressure environment
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and without supervision
• Fluent use of English written and spoken
• Clear and concise communication

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 6+ years experience in Systems Administration supporting one or more of the following operating systems
o Linux (CentOS, RedHat, or Ubuntu)
o Solaris
o VMware ESXi
o Windows Server 2008/2012/2016
• Advanced English skills (written and verbal) – C1 Level
• Good organization and attention to detail
• A logical mind-set and a passion for problem solving and teamwork
• Experience within the IT, telecommunications, and/or networking industry is desirable
• Experience in a multi-national, multi-cultural, and global environment is preferred
