As part of the sales centre unit, the Technical Sales Consultant is responsible for supporting Sales in achieving Sales Production and Revenue targets by:

Understanding and translating customer business requirements into functional and technical requirements
Assist in discovery, due diligence efforts to acquire necessary data needed for solution development
Leading the technical evaluation and qualification of opportunities by matching against AT&T’s services & capabilities and identifying the appropriate resource to support design & engineering functions
Building commercially sound innovative solutions meeting the customer’s requirements, with the objective of creating a winning proposal
Maximize AT&T’s share of customer telecom spend by designing multi-service solutions
Present and defend the proposed solution to the customer, expressing the value to the customer’s business
Contribute to develop new and existing customer relationship & satisfaction, by focusing on the customer’s technical community and decision makers – includes travel to on-site briefings, technical forums, whiteboard sessions

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Technical Sales Consultant operates on the cutting edge of technical, operational and commercial disciplines, balancing the available options for both an AT&T and customer favourable solution. To satisfactorily handle these, the TSC possesses thorough knowledge of services and underlying technologies offered by AT&T, and the marketplace at large; he/she should also possess the communication skills to persuasively present the benefits of an AT&T to solution to clients, give technical guidance to account management, and work with supplier organizations in and outside of AT&T.

The TSC has an excellent understanding of IT and data communications. He is able to design a network services solution that balances innovation and cost and includes elements that AT&T provides through our own asset base as well as incorporating subcontractor offerings.

Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects with very tight deadlines and interface with other teams throughout the organization to develop winning solutions to multinational clients.

Education and Qualifications:

The profile for Technical Sales Consultant is determined at the following criteria

Technical University Degree or equivalent
10 to 15 years experience in an international telecommunications environment
Strongly customer oriented
Customer facing experience in a pre-sales, sales or post-sales environment
In-depth knowledge of Data and IP networking technologies, combined with thorough knowledge of VoIP
Good understanding of the international telecommunications market
Self Starter
Resourceful and Result driven
Excellent interpersonal communications skills
