Product Management team at QuickPlay is responsible for setting the product direction by aligning it with market, customer and company needs. The team is responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting and tailoring our solutions to all of company’s customers and target markets. As part of the Product Management team, you bridge the technical and business worlds as you design services that customers love.

The specific position is required to work closely with the Director, Product Management to focus on planning, developing and executing QuickPlay’s strategy for our Headend. You are required to lead and/or collaborate on projects for customer research, competitive analysis, market trends and from the findings identify key focus areas and document product requirements and positioning. You will be also be influencing and contributing to product requirements, product strategy and roadmaps. The role works with QuickPlayers from R&D, Professional Services, Operations and Sales, to name a few.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Capture functional and non-functional requirements for Quickplay Headend by working with the Product Managers
• Perform needs analysis, create requirements, perform requirements analysis and work with development and architecture teams to define product
• Work closely with development and architecture teams to drive the implementation of a new product version. Play the role of a Product Owner in development scrums
• Manage existing product versions and work closely with engineers in supporting existing customers.
• Contribute to research, development and implementation of best process strategies for new product development, launch and analysis.
• Monitor and report the status of the product versions in various stages of its life cycle.
• Work closely with retention and customer communication teams to ensure accuracy of products being developed.
• Work with customers to understand business requirements and expectations in order to develop strategic direction for development teams.
• Maintain knowledge of current and emerging trends in the industry
• Work in an environment that fosters product innovation and development to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Work with other product management team members to build and enhance the appropriate products in a timely and efficient manner.
• Communicate current and future statuses of product development as it relates to current and future projects and direction related to these projects.
• Other duties as assigned.

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Bachelor degree or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience required.
• Strong technical abilities with interest in creating and analyzing products
• Minimum 3 years of professional work experience dealing with a software product
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
• Understand rapidly changing technology landscape – virtualization, microservices, modern UI/UX paradigms etc.
• Strong knowledge of product lifecycle of a video application on an IP enabled device
• Well-versed with the process of UX design and implementation
• Knowledge of DRM / other security techniques used for preventing video piracy
• Knowledge of SaaS and web based services
• Good working knowledge of agile programming methodology and associated tools platforms.
• Ability to explain technical concepts and theories to non-technical audiences.
• Strong evidence of time management skills required.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to prioritize.
• Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
