The Principal Technology Architect is responsible for the design and delivery of Software Defined Network Functionality in data centers, cloud and LAN environments.
He collaborates with Systems Engineers and Software Engineers to produce the application, system, or network designs to be implemented by development. Provides long-term or strategic architecture direction to satisfy the needs of AT&T service offerings or the running and management of AT&T and customer networks, systems, and services.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Customer facing role as Subject Matter Expert in Software Defined Networks and Network Virtualization.
• Collaborate with critical stakeholders to understand business needs, priorities and the quality of services to be created or enhanced.
• Responsible for the fundamental technology work of architecture/designing/building the core frameworks for our system platforms and end to end solutions, including building platform and performance components.
• Cooperate directly with AT&T Delivery/Operation Team and with Product Management Group.
• May define and design functional, technical, performance, and reliability solutions in line with client inferred requirements.
• Drive research and standardization of platform components that can make up the building blocks from which AT&T will build applications and services.
• Solves complex performance issues.
• Create massive distributed systems, integrated solutions between legacy and target state solutions, vendor guidelines and best practices.
• Define company technical strategic directions for vendor selection, technology choices, engineering processes, and tools.

Key Competencies and Skills:

• Designing Software Defined Data Center with emphasis on the networking aspects. Specific emphasis on Private Cloud designs.
• Designed and defined SDN networks across a wide variety of platforms including Arista, HP and Cisco with specific knowledge of VM Ware NSX, Nuage or other similar virtualization applications.
• Expertise in public and hybrid cloud deployments.
• Expert level advisor to customers on SDN and private / public / hybrid cloud interfaces.
• Expert in Software Defined Networks and Network Virtualization.
• Good to have an understanding of systems engineering principles derived from experience.
• Good to have VMware Certification - VMware certified datacenter virtualization professionals:
VCP: VMware Certified Professional
VCAP: VMware Certified Advanced Professional
VCDX: VMware Certified Design Expert

Education and Qualifications:

• Preferred Masters of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; or equivalent experience.
• Good to have: Expert level technical professional.
